Morning Psalm: 119:145-176 | Evening Psalms: 128, 129,130
Exodus 7:8-24 | 2 Corinthians 2:14—3:6 | Mark 10:1-16
“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere” (2 Cor 2:14).
The Scripture passage above brings about questions such as, “Who is sufficient for these things?” (2 Cor 2:16). Who is adequate and skilled enough to take on this ministry? It is God “who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant” (2 Cor 3:6). Through His grace, God gives us the capability to proclaim the Gospel to everyone, so it may enter their hearts as well.
This is not reserved only for priests, pastors, or missionaries. In fact the people of the Church are charged with this responsibility to keep the message of Christianity going. To carry on the message of Jesus Christ, which is His message of Love, the Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension, which we as Christians believe, it is our hope that through sharing the good news, we are making disciples throughout the world. Paul further says, “Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God” (2 Cor 3:4-5). Therefore, with the gifts, skills, and abilities that God has entrusted to us, He enables our lives to become instruments in transforming other lives to glorify God, who is the one we most desire to please.
Heavenly Father, continue working through us. Give us the courage and confidence we desire to share with others Your good news. We ask for Your guidance and the strength we need to confront the challenges we face in today’s world while giving us a sense of hope, calm, peace, and comfort. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
