Announcing the Baur Fund for Veterans and Chaplains

Trinity School for Ministry is pleased to announce a new scholarship fund known as the Rev. Robert M. Baur Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Rev. Robert M. (Bob) Baur was a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh and served as Associate Rector at Calvary Episcopal Church in Shadyside, near Pittsburgh, PA from 1972 until his retirement in 1992. He died January 14, 2001.
The Baur Fund will award scholarships each year for full-time students enrolled at Trinity School for Ministry who demonstrate a financial need. Students who are honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. military, or who demonstrate an intention to serve in chaplaincy roles in the U.S. military will be given preference in selection. Robert Baur was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army, honorably discharged, having served in the Pacific Southwest.
Gifts to the Baur Fund are welcome. The fund will be endowed until the end of 2018, after which the Trustees may add some portion of the principal of the Baur Fund to the annual awards. To make a gift to the Baur Fund, simply write “Baur Fund” in the memo line of the check, or inform the Development staff at Trinity (724-266-3838 or that you wish your gift to be invested in the Baur Fund.

This sounds incredible! I am an honorably discharged veteran of the Marine Corps, and am interested in getting a Master’s degree. I currently have a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies and am interested in pursuing ordination. Could you tell me how to go about applying for this, and how much it would pay? Does it cover full-tuition or just a percentage, and if so could you tell me what that percentage is? Thanks!
