The World of St. Francis with The Rev. Dr. Les Fairfield

Come with me to walk in Francis’ footsteps in Assisi where he was born and which later served as home base for his missionary journeys.

We’ll begin our journey with two nights in Rome and then continue to Assisi for six nights, from where we will tour Assisi, Siena, Florence, Greccio, and the mountaintop hermitage of La Verna. This is where Francis received in his own body the marks of Christ’s wounds.

Francis and the Franciscan ideal speak powerfully to us, captive as we are to so many “things.” Francis puts us in touch with the “one thing needful.”

The dates of our pilgrimage are June 10-19, 2012, with an optional extension to Padua and Venice (June 19-21).
