Travel Study
Trinity has a long tradition of travel study. Click on the link at left to see some of our past trips.
Trinity professors will take you to lands of the Bible and remarkable moments of church history - on location and in person. Visit the epicenter of the English or German Reformation, walk the streets of Ephesus where Paul preached and ministered, soak in the art and renewal of the Renaissance while in Italy or find out where Celtic Christianity got its start.
Whether traveling for pleasure, personal enrichment or service, this program provides wonderful opportunities for learning in the fellowship of a Christian community. Most trips are non-credit.

History & Mission of the Church in Turkey -- ME-750: Overseas Mission Study
A Mission and Study Trip to Turkey
March 7th through the 18th, 2012
Dr. Philip Harrold (TSM) and missionary David Meeks (TSM alumnus from 2007) will lead a study tour on the mission of the Church of the first millennium in its ancient birthplaces found in modern-day Turkey. We will also participate in the life and witness of the Church of the third millennium (the contemporary Church) in its predominantly Muslim context. This course is a hybrid of study tour and mission trip. Arrangements can be made with the TSM Registrar to take the course as a general elective in church history; otherwise, it is listed as a Missions and Evangelism (ME) course, with the opportunity for “cross-cultural immersion,” as described in the Academic Bulletin, “Academic Enrichment,” p. 14.
Please note that the trip to Turkey is intended as a student study trip and registration for the ME 750 class, either as an auditor or for credit is required.
TRAVEL EVENT (non-credit)
The World of St. Francis: This wonderful tour will be led by Dr. Leslie Fairfield. This trip will take place this Summer: June 10 - 19, 2012, following Francis' footsteps in Italy. Starting in Rome, including the Vatican and Catacombs on the Appian Way, then on to Assisi for six nights, touring the magnificent Umbrian and Tuscan countryside, Siena, Florence, Greccio and the mountaintop hermitage of La Verna, ending in Padua and Venice. The Padua-Venice part is an optional extension June 19-21, 2012. This will be a great visit to flesh out the life of one of Christianity's most un-self-centered spirits, who reconnected the Church with the poor and with the life of Christ's disciples. Note: the trip to Italy is nearly full. Non-credit.
For more information call or email Dawn Bates in Extension Ministries at dbates@tsm.edu or 724-266-3838 for information on either trip.
