What information do we collect?
We collect your IP address for use in anonymous site statistics.
If you choose to contact a Trinity employee using our website’s contact function, then we also collect that email address. However, the email address is not stored for use beyond your attempt to contact us, and as such it can neither be used by us to contact you in the future (except by the specific person you chose to contact), nor can it be shared with any third party.
The Alumni Directory contains name, graduation year, and contact information for all Alumni who have not explicitly opted out of the program (contact information can include any of the following for home or work: mailing address, phone number, fax number, email address, website address). However, this information is not collected on our website and is coming from an external system.
What organization is collecting the information?
Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry is the only organization that collects information through this website. No advertisers or other third parties are present.
How is my information used?
If you enter your email address in an attempt to contact a Trinity employee, that email address is used in that attempt, and is then “forgotten.” It can neither be used by us to contact you in the future (except, of course, by the specific person you chose to contact), nor can it be shared with any third party.
With whom may the information be shared?
Information in the Alumni Directory is made available to other Trinity alumni in a password-protected area of the site.
What choices are available to me regarding collection, use and distribution of my information?
Alumni may choose not to have their contact information included in the Alumni Directory by contacting the Alumni Office. In this case, the person’s name and graduation year is still present, but a search for that person returns “Contact information withheld.”
How can I correct any inaccuracies in my information?
If you misenter your email address in an attempt to contact a Trinity employee, you should contact that person again using your correct address.
If you find inaccuracies in the Alumni Directory, please inform the Alumni Office.
What kind of security procedures are in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information under Trinity’s control?
The Alumni Directory is password-protected. Furthermore, the information in the Alumni Directory is actually maintained in an external, limited-access database. The Directory is periodically populated from this database. Therefore, there is no risk that our website could be used to fundamentally manipulate your information.
If you choose to withhold your contact information from the Alumni Directory, we take three steps to honor your request:
- When data is imported, all contact info is removed for “unavailable” alumni. The Alumni Directory only knows about your name and year/degree info (your full information is still retained within Trinity’s offline database, of course).
- A search for an unavailable alumni returns their name and graduation year with a note: “Contact information withheld.”
- Any attempt to view that alumni record directly returns a website error. But even if we did let someone through, there would be nothing to see because of step 1.
